Week Seven Pathophysiology Paper’s Assignment
You will now add a teaching plan to this project. This plan will include the hospitalized AND discharged patient. Be sure to use the patient resources you found in the previous assignments such as support groups, include “usual” medications and treatments (physical therapy, home health, hospice, etc).
The preferred method is to include this section within your paper, however this section may be added as an appendix if that improves the flow and understanding of the document. Remember you are currently LPNs BUT this assignment is in the scope of practice for a BSN and will be submitted as if the RN is teaching the plan.
The teaching plan will reflect a BSN level of teaching per OBN scope of practice. A successful teaching plan will be individualized to the chosen patho and include home and hospital care.
Include who you are teaching (patient, family, child, spouse?). How do you evaluate their learning needs? What barriers are in place and how would you go about recognizing those? What method do you use, tools for teaching? Where do you get the tools? How do you evaluate if your teaching is successful?
These are questions that you should attempt to answer in your teaching plan.
You will need to add at least one reference from the SWOSU online library that has been published in the last 5 years and has not already been used for previous patho paper submissions. Add this to the content of your previous submission. This will be your finalized paper so make any edits needed prior to submission.
